i made this one quite a while ago, don't know why i didn't submit it..
an excellent sword
Nice and simple. I like it. Is the cutout in the blade to reduce weight (not enough to do so, but still possible) or for a second handhold?
its mainly just for aesthetic reasons but you could use it as a forward hand hold, to provide more force when cutting down, although its kind of a tiny hole, so most peoples fingers probably wouldn't fit in there.
What 3d program did you use to make this, and how did you make the bands around the hilt? I would reeeeallly like to know how to do this for my sword
Btw this looks fantastic, the only thing I would suggest you doing is adding a reflective material to the blade to make it 10x better
the blade does have a reflective material on it already it just dose not have a lot of stuff to reflect, as i did not add a sky object, if you look at the pummel it has the same textures as the blade.and i used Cinema 4D to make the entire thing.
Ah I see, so how did you model the bands on the handle? I can't figure out how to model any bands around my swords. I tried using a plane, box, and other stuff. How did you model it?
oh well what i do is make a helix spline then lathe nurbs a rectangle spline along with the helix, so it makes a spring like model the i just adjust perimeters so it fits right, the helix, rectangle and lathe nurbs all have to be the same orientation and banking has to be off, or else you get wierd bends you don't want.
Why's it called False Edge?
a False edge, as i understand it anyway, is a Double edged sword, with only one cutting edge, but looks like it has 2 either as a safety reason for the user or to fool your enemy, i took some creative liberties and made it some what as a 1.5 edge sword
Looks kinda like a scaled-up military knife
Won nice, What program he was captured?
